Cold Summer

Riley got a hold of my phone and took a couple self portraits! I love her!

Derrick, Owen and me all of colds. Owen climbed into bed with me last night and whimpered in his sleep. I could tell he was frustrated that he could not breathe through his nose. He kept me up most of the night, I tried to move him back to hims bed a couple of times but he woke up crying, so I gave up and just let him sleep in my bed.  I am tired, my head is pounding and my ears are plugged up. I hate when my ears are plugged, I hope I never go deaf. I am hoping that we will be better by Friday, the kids have dentist appointments.. Colds during the summer stink!

"I mustache you a question."

" I'll shave it for later."

I love these crazy kids of mine!
We are still enjoying our summer.
Derrick had a free meal at Chuck a Rama for reading, so on Saturday we went and used it. The kids pilled food on their plates and ate till their bellies hurt! Derrick had to try EVERY kind of dessert. We had a good time and it was nice to spend the time together, especially since Daniel is working like a mad man - 10+ hour days, six days a week.

Red, White and Blue.

We had a yummy breakfast for the 4th of July! I am part of a produce co-op and this week our loot included blueberries, strawberries and bananas. With the help of Pinterest (I am addicted) I found something to make with all that yummy fruit - Fruit kabobs shaped  like an American flag! The kids had fun putting it together, and then after it was all done they enjoyed eating their work!!

Happy 4th!

What a blessing it is to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I love this county with all my heart, and I am proud to live here. I am proud to be an American. Happy Independence Day.

Best Job I've Ever Had.

(I got up early today and baked 20 dozen cookies - pumpkin chocolate chip and oatmeal chocolate chip. It took almost three hours!! The kids kept sneaking them. Owen picks out the chocolate chips and throws the rest of the cookie away...He keeps me busy!)

Derrick snuggled with me most of the afternoon. At one point be looked up at me and said, "I am glad you are my Mom. I think you are the best because you are always home with us".
Melt. My. Heart.
I live for moments like that. It makes me know that I am doing the right thing and that it IS appreciated.

I feel so blessed to be a mother. It is the hardest, yet most rewarding job I have ever had.

Lazy Sunday

I love Sunday afternoons. They are filled with relaxing, giggles  and snuggling on the couch watching movies - and usually something yummy to eat for dinner! Yesterday was no exception! I could hear Owen giggling as I made dinner; Daniel was throwing him up in the air and Owen was pretending he was superman. Derrick and Riley were pleading for him to throw them also - Dan decided they were to big and lifted them up, upside down so they could walk on the ceiling. Dan then got some pillowcases and him and the kids hopped inside them and raced across the living room 3 times.  After the pillowcase race Derrick got some belts and tied Owen and Dan's feet together, then tied  him and Riley's feet together and they had a three legged race!! I am sure the down stairs neighbors were not thrilled about all the pounding! My little family however was having the time of their lives!
I love days like this.
