If You Give a Kid a Cupcake

For some reason I have not been on the ball about getting Riley and Owen their immunizations. Riley had some right before Owen was born, but since then NOTHING. Owen has not had any...With Riley starting school in the fall I thought it was time...I also thought it was time for Owen to start his.
Riley needed to have her kindergarten check up anyways so I made the appointment and brought them in. I tried to explain that they would have to get shots, I am not one of those Moms who wait until they nurse brings in the needle. When it came time for the shots Riley went first - I think this was my only mistake. She was so upset and I could not comfort her because Owen was next. After he heard Riley scream all hell broke loose - he was screaming bloody murder and I it took all my strength to hold his legs down so the nurse could give him his shots...
I am glad it is all over..Until July when I have to take them back in for more...

Derrick just came along for the ride, and was pretty good. The only problem I ever have with him is that he wants to ask Dr. Fiendt a million questions. Last time we came in he asked her what glucose was...What the heck?! She had to explain it in "doctor" terms. She looked at him and said, "you ask really hard questions and the way you ask I have to give you answers that are kind of confusing."
I hope that he always has in inquiring mind and that if he has a question he will ask it, no matter how hard, silly, or BIG the question is!

Right across the road from our pediatrician office is my VERY. FAVORITE. Cupcake shop, the Sweet Tooth Fairy. I promised the kids that if they were good we could go and get a cupcake. YUM.

He Made it to 3!!!

I can not believe my baby is 3! He is a super busy little guy. I would not change him for the world and I am so glad that he is mine.
He had a great birthday! We went to Build a Bear and let him make his very on Bear - Monkey. Derrick and Riley brought along their stuffed animals from build a bear workshop and gave them a bath and we also let them pick an outfit out.
We came home and sang Owen happy Birthday and let him open up the rest of his presents. He also got Ironman - his most favorite superhero.

Favorite Food: Chicken
Favorite Color: Orange
Favorite Movie: Despicable Me

We Skipped

We skipped church today and headed to the zoo - I feel guilt but not really - we needed sometime together as a family. It was a beautiful day and the kids have been stuck in the house forever - when wanted them to get their wiggles out of them and what better place then the zoo. Plus are zoo pass only has one more month on it so this might be one of the last times we are going to be able to go for awhile.
There was hardly anyone there. The kids finally talked me into letting them go inside the "snake pit". I hate going into that building it is always mugging and smells - Gross.
The polar bear was in and out of the water and it was fun to watch her swim around.
The Grizzly bears where playing in their pond and growling.
The giraffe's were inside their building and we got to see the baby.
I did not get a very good picture of Riley - you can barley see her in the picture with the monkeys.
Owen wore his cape that Aunt Tasha made him the entire time.

No Words

I do not know how they are even sleeping like this. They can not be comfortable - especially Riley with Derrick laying on her. Derricks head is bent sideways pressed against the back of the couch.
Happy Weekend!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter From the Clement Kids.
I sure do love them.

I think that Easter might be my most favorite Holiday. I love that it is on Sunday's. It makes it a little more reverent and makes me reflect on what it means a little bit more.
I am so grateful for the sacrifice that my savior made. I am so grateful for the sacrifice my Father in Heaven made - I could not imagine how hard it would be sending your son down to earth knowing all the pain and suffering he would have to endure.
I am grateful that because of the sacrifice that Christ made I have the chance to repent and return to my Father in Heaven. That my children also have that privileged.
I know with all my heart that Christ lives. I know that he lived for me - that he loves me. I know that the gospel is true and by it we can find true happiness.
How grateful I am not only for the Saviors sacrifice but the sacrifices others made so I could be here today, have a family and be the mom to 3 amazing kids. Life is good.
